Awesome comparison. Thinking of upgrading from the A6500 for the autofocus capability that I’ve experienced on an A7IV and this has convinced me to do it!
Can a monitor be mounted onto the gimbal?
Thanks!
22:20 Birds are listed separately because they dont have the same movement pattern as a land animal. Also, sky color becomes more of a thing
The best comparison
I just bought a open box Sony a6000 (Graphite) from Amazon for $299.99. It only had 21 shutter clicks and looks brand new! I have better cameras, but I got the a6000 to see if I could use it to see if it would help me be a better photographer.
I guess no one likes the Sony E 50mm F/1.8 oss. Shame
I have that one Sony 50mm 1.8 and very happy.
My top 5 selection: Sigma 18-50 f2.8 Sigma 10-18 f2.8 Sigma 56 f1.4 Tamron 18-300 Viltrox 13 f/1.4
En ese rango excluyendo el propio sigma, me quedo con el ttartisans 56 f1.8 por apariencia, el boked y otras cosas más, aunque el enfoque es mas lento, puede ser mas preciso. Saludos
I have the 6000
Is this lens better than the older Sony 70-350mm aps-c lens?
How do you think about this lens compare to the newer - Tamron 18-300mm f3.5-6.3 in term of image quality and auto focus.
AF is the most important thing. It's a deal breaker for me. I wish they fix it as soon as possible or may be in the next model
To answer your question: anyone who wants a setup which is half this size...ie normal. The Nikon Z 28-400mm isn’t much bigger! This clearly shows what is possible with lens design, either a short focal length range with a large aperture or visa-versa, but not both.
Straight to the point, looks pretty good for the money. We tech nerds see the differences, would anyone else? Not sure. Did you ever stop down to 1.8 or 2 to see how the bokeh balls change? Would be interesting to see if they are better than on the Viltrox/TTA at 1.7/1.8. One thing, the spec sheet says the lens is 288g, you said 388g, probably a little mistake that is worth knowing for people interested, the lens is under 300g, so not really heavy at all, just a bit bigger than the Sigma.
Sigma! Get this on the Canon RF mount!
does this lens balance on the rs3 mini gimbal?
How this Meike 55mm compare to Ttartisan 56mm f1.8 in term of auto focus?
good review.
Can it do a 360 degree rotation like the DJI
I love my Sigma 56mm, though due to your other video the Viltrox 75 f1.2 seems tempting
can you compare this len to the lowa and the sigma 10-18 , thanks
Focus is not the same between picture. Sharpness is not comparable. Bad test
Hopefully they can fix the AF issues with a firmware update.
You're da best mahn. I'm going to buy 6100. Thanks for the video. RESPECT 🫡
Will you be reviewing the ttartisan 56 mm 1.8 af
Should be getting one soon to review, yes.
Yay! San Antonio!!!!! Gorgeous pics in this city.
Downtown area has a lot to photograph!
I am still waiting for Sigma to start making Nikon Z Mount lenses. I have several F-Mount, and they are all VERY good.
I just bought a used Viltrox 56mm f1.4 few days ago for $100 cash.
This or the ttartisan or the viltrox?
I guess I don't regret having bought the Sigma 56 mm two years ago :D I don't find myself picking the 56 mm that often, but everytime I do, I regret not taking it more often as the photos look so good everytime XD
I may investigate this lens, assuming we don't get the $ price + 50% that seems to be very common in the UK recently!
Very nice review as always 🌟
Which one is best, if I want one for photography mainly and casual recoding. And beginner friendly
Is that the correct pronunciation for the brand name? I always used the Chinese pronunciation (may-kuh).
You’re probably right, I’ll fix it in the next one.
@@ArthurR I am surprised most of the Chinese companies don’t share the pronunciation when sending out their products. I’ve also heard ZhiYun and SiRui pronounced a half dozen different ways each on different reviews.
Might be because for the end user it's easier to pronounce the brand adjusted to their own language. Most users wouldn't like to be teach how to pronounce a brand name
I will keep holding out for an APS-C Viltrox Pro f1.2 50mm for Sony E-mount. Viltrox, make it happen!
This. I just hope it’s smaller than the 27 and 75.
@@ArthurR The 27mm should have been smaller given the difference in focal length between the 75mm
@@ArthurR Considering Viltrox built it as an f1.2, it would be difficult to shrink the size while maintaining that aperture. If Viltrox had a smaller f1.8 version of the 27 and 75, I'd straight up buy it!
They will most likely do a 40mm 1.2, so all their 3 lenses are a bit more punched in than 23, 33 and 56. Paired with the 1.2 instead of 1.4 you get a full frame look, that's the strategy behind the Pro line for APSC, sacrifice a bit of wide angle and weight to get that special look for portraits.
A 40mm/1.2 would be awesome for me as 40mm is a focal length I love for street photography. I considered getting the little Sony 40mm/2.5, but as I'm shooting a lot at night, f/2.5 on APS-C wouldn't be exactly overwhelming. 40/1.2 or 45/1.2 would be my dream lens.
The glossy plastic on the front of the lens is a deal breaker for me. I don't understand the decision behind this since it makes this lens look like a kid's toy.
Thankfully, function is always 100% more important. Especially when aiming for bang per buck on a limited budget. Personally, I'm not worried about a lens looking like a toy or what others think of my lenses.
@@Demios101 Yeah. "deal breaker" is crazy
@@Demios101 I completely agree with you on the topic of function over form. But currently, there are plenty of affordable prime lens options with comparable performance. Hence my choice will be towards the ones with better build and a more pleasing look since I'll be the one holding & looking at it all the time.
For me,that means the Sigma which I have owned for some. @@shtechvn
@@shtechvnyou mean the Viltrox and TTA? I mean 1.4 and 1.7/1.8 is a difference for portraits and low light, and you get an aperture ring and AF/MF switch here. Little glossy plastic part wouldn't be my first worry, but each to their own
this is great for my FX30! Thanks!

Just remember shutter count, you may just have to replace the shutter. It could happen now, in a year, or a while. Your new to you used camera may have already had the shutter replaced. I hear for sony's you usually have to send it to sony in America, some repair shops won't do it for sony, but that is what I've heard. I was watching so many videos on "Sony a6000 in 2024" etc. Not a single content creator mentioned shutter count. I went out and bought the Sony a6000, the physical condition looked pretty mint, but after 20 shutter releases, the screen showed "camera error: turn off camera then back on" but really you have to take out the battery for the error screen to go away. Anyways, I got my money back thankfully. I came from a Canon apsc dslr. Did not know or even think that shutter count is a thing or a wear and tear thing. For the amount that the new shutter and labor, I would might as well just got a brand new camera. I payed 500usd for the body and kit lens. Then plus new shutter. I could get an a6700 for a few hundred more.. Keh, nor mbp show shutter count in the description, or specs. So be cautious of shutter count and issues when taking the used camera route. I'll buy used electronic lenses all day, but I'd think twice about a used camera body now.

super fast
According to Sony Hong Kong technical support department when the a7c2 connects to the ecm-g1 microphone, it can only use analog input. If you use a7c2 with other higher-end microphones, you can use digital input or analog input. So when g1 connect to a7c2, there is no fully automatic audio leveling function. However, on other Sony camera models such as the a74, the camera can continue to use digital input and use the fully automatic volume leveling function. Regarding this issue, I sent three emails to Sony's technical support department in Hong Kong, China and Japan. Reflecting my dissatisfaction, why do the same microphone have different reactions in different camera models. I use the a7c2, a relatively entry-level camera, because I hope that using an entry-level microphone, I can adjust the volume completely automatically, without having to spend time manually adjusting the volume.
The alternative lenses you recommend are 3-5 times the price of this one, I don't think they really are alternatives for those who are looking for a budget wide angle lenses...
Just got a 6600 body and plan to buy this to go with the Sony 15mm 1.4
I brought 2 of these in 2015. With one of them, I use a canon 24 70 f2.8 lense with a metabones adaptor. I have installed updates on all. Still to this day people are blown away by the quality I produce and they ask what I use. When I tell them a7s mk 1 they are shocked. Hype plays a big part in obsolete.
Super detailed! Hard-work appreciated.
Dude I literally was going to ask if you knew who Hoovie was. 😂
On an APS-C body, you get view angle/DOF equivalent to a full-frame 27mm f/12 lens. Focusing should NOT be a problem on an APS-C body. The manufacturer states that the shift isn't meant for full-frame bodies, only APS-C. One trick you can do, when you are shooting a reflective building facade (windows, mirrored surfaces) is to shift laterally. This will keep your lines straight, without getting your reflection in the shot. And while F/8 isn't going to get you much bokeh, remember the ancient battle cry of the landscape photographer, "F/8 and be there!" I think this could be an interesting lens for the APS-C shooter who likes to shoot urban landscape and architecture. For landscape photography, deep DOF is a feature, not a bug.
currently have the a6300 and i want to upgrade tot either an a7iii/a7iv or should i go for the a6700?
